EPFL MoT: The Lean Start-up Model

I had a great time with the folks at Swissnex SF doing this talk for the ‘Management of Technology-based Enterprise’ program at EPFL in Switzerland (Ecole Polytechnique Federal de Lausanne) and awesome follow-up from the participants (thanks again for getting in touch!).

The focus of this talk was:

• how product-driven businesses are taking an increasing share of value (vs. scale or scope based businesses)
• how these firms’ fundamental currency is innovation
• how Lean Startup and related techniques allow teams to systematically innovate
• how that’s a departure from traditional approaches

Also speaking were Michael Redding from Accenture and Alexander Osterwalder, inventor of the Business Model Canvas. (Full Agenda)
