SARTA promotes and supports technology-driven businesses in the Sacramento area. I was pleased to accept their invitation to do a workshop ‘The Business Model Canvas: Your Roadmap to Success‘.
As I’ve learned to do in such a workshop, we spent most of the time on using techniques like design thinking and Lean Startup to figure out what to put in the Canvas. The Canvas’ chief virtue is that it’s easy to understand on first glance. The worthwhile part is pushing yourself on the quality and coherence of how you what you put in it. Here’s an intro blog post I did for SARTA on this aspect of using the Canvas: Venture Design and the Business Model Canvas.
Below are materials from the workshop and follow-on items for the participants and others who want to use the Canvas to iterate to a stronger business model.
